Tomato chicken curry
6-8 servings

  • 1x 1.5 kg (3 lb) chicken
  • ¼ cup finely chopped onion
  • 4 tomatoes, roughly chopped
  • 2 teaspoons ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 3 green chilies, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon sliced onion
  • 2 tablespoons coriander leaves
  • ½ cup oil
  • Salt to taste



Remove skin and cut the whole chicken into 12 pieces ( 4 piece thigh plus drumstick and 6 pieces of breast).Talking out the meat discard the bones. Make 2.5 CM (1") Cubes of the meat.

Combine meat, chopped onion,tomatoes,Ginger,garlic turmeric,green chili and salt in a bowl. mix them well. 

Heat the oil in a frying pan.Put in the cumin,Stir add the sliced onion and fry till golden brown. Add the mixed chicken and stir-fry. When the water has evaporated and the copped coriander leaves.remove from heat. 

Finally:Serve hot with boiled rice Khichuri, pulao, chapati or parata.
